Stimulus Poorly Managed in Deakin

Stimulus Poorly Managed

The Rudd Government is spending billions of dollars on new school halls in Deakin and throughout Australia. Schools are being sidelined in the rush to get these buildings constructed to the extent that in some cases relatively new buildings are being demolished to make way for a new building that is not required. In many cases the money could have been more wisely spent through consultation with schools to assess what their real needs are.

MoneyIn addition it is becoming clear that the rush to get school buildings started is placing huge strains on the building industry where new demand for labour is outstripping supply forcing up costs not only for these buildings but for all commercial buildings.

For a Government that is trying to project itself as a responsible manager of the taxpayer purse they are failing miserably. You will note that Mr Rudd and his colleagues are doing all they can to take the focus off the way they are spending your money.

Please let me know when you see examples of the Government's mismanagement and where it is using its power to silence those who have something constructive to say about the needs of our community. Email me at philbarresi@vic.liberal.org.au
